Rare Flash Flood Watch in Southern California

It’s not often we see flooding problems in southern California. Today, the NWS office in San Diego issued a flash flood watch for most of the region.

* SHOWERS POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* HEAVY RAINFALL RATES OF ONE-HALF INCH PER HOUR OR MORE IN THE
STRONGEST CELLS. THERE IS A THREAT OF DEBRIS FLOWS…ESPECIALLY
ON THE SILVERADO BURN AREA IN THE SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS…THE
COCOS BURN AREA IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND THE MOUNTAIN FIRE BURN
AREA IN THE SAN JACINTO MOUNTAINS.
