Today 11/4 – Partly Cloudy – High 68° / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy – Low 53°
It looks like we’ll see just one more dry day in the forecast as a wet pattern begins to shape up for the rest of the forecast. Today, our upper level winds will be from the southwest as we are located downstream of a longwave trough. We’ll begin to notice an influx of moisture due to this flow as well.
A large area of low pressure will be located to the north of the region. This will produce a long cold front to the west of the region. It looks like this front will make a slow progression eastward. For now, it looks like Tuesday will remain dry. Highs will once again be in the upper 60s, around 68°. Winds will be out of the south around 10 mph. I like this forecast!
The front and associated precipitation shield will work ever so close to the Bowling Green area. However, I think it will be far enough west that we should stay dry during the overnight hours as well. A few showers will be possible late tonight. Lows will be around 53°.
Wednesday 11/5 – Rainy – High 58° / Wed Night – Rainy – Low 51°
The cold front will slowly make its way into the region on Wednesday. This will lead to some pretty rainy conditions across the region for most of the day. Precipitable water values look to be around 1.3″ for most of the day, so some of the rain may be heavy at times. The good news is that instability will almost be non-existent, thus we can rule out any thunderstorm activity. Highs will remain cool in the upper 50s. A light east wind will be possible as the front moves through. Below is an animation of the NAM Model’s take on how it plays out.
Wednesday night will bring more rain to the region as a disturbance to the south pushes a little more moisture northward. No thunderstorms are expected. Rainfall amounts could end up totaling from 0.5″ to 1″ of rain for Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Thursday 11/6 – Isolated Showers – High 54° / Thur Night – Mostly Clear – Low 37°
A few more isolated showers will be possible as another low pressure systems spins to the north of the region. However, this feature shouldn’t mess up the forecast too much. It looks like we’ll see a break from the precipitation for the most part as the dry conveyor belt of this low pressure system begins to work into the region. Highs will be in the mid 50s. Below is the location of the dry conveyor belt.
Thursday night should bring some clearing conditions to the region. A few models produce some light precipitation on the backside of the low pressure system, but confidence in this occurring is low. Thus, we’ll go with partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 30s.
