Temperatures have warmed into the lower 80s here on Bowling Green. This means we are on track to reach the mid 80s this afternoon as we are firmly established in the warm sector of the approaching low pressure system. Conditions should remain partly cloudy through the remainder of the afternoon with winds around 10 mph out of the south. Yes, it’s still fall folks.

Tonight may bring some increased cloud cover late tonight, however partly cloudy skies can be expected during the evening hours. Lows will be around 62°. Winds will remain out of the south.

Tuesday 10/28 – Afternoon Showers/Thunderstorms – High 77° / Tue Night – Scattered Showers – Low 52°

On Tuesday, a cold front will begin to make its way into the region. The timing of the front is a bit in question as it seems to have slowed down by about 3 hours compared to previous model runs. If we wake up to mostly clear skies, temperatures may begin to warm enough into the mid 70s. This will add instability to the atmosphere, which will make stronger storms possible. Given the latest model data has slowed down the progression of the front, we’ll need to monitor for a risk of strong storms across the region. The best chance of this will occur east of I-65, as indicated by the Storm Prediction Center.

With the front and associated thunderstorms now seeming to pass through the region during the mid to late afternoon hours, we may be a little slower to dry out than previously thought. Some showers will likely linger in the region during the evening and overnight hours. Lows will be in the low 50s with winds out of the west-northwest.

Wednesday 10/29 – Partly Cloudy – High 61° / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 40°

High pressure will begin to move into the region behind the front on Wednesday. This means we should begin to clear out some as the front moves well to the east of the region, taking the moisture with it. Conditions should clear out some to partly cloudy skies and calmer winds as the high pressure moves close to the region. Highs will struggle to make it to the 60°.

Wednesday night will bring mostly clear conditions to the region. Lows will take a nosedive into the low 40s and upper 30s under the clear skies and calm winds.
