Drier Weather Expected in Bowling Green.

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 10/17 – Mostly Cloudy; Lingering Showers Early – High 64º / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 46º

6am 49º – 9am 54º – 12pm 60º – 3pm 64º – 6pm 59º

Good morning, we are currently seeing mostly cloudy skies with temperatures around 50º. We are seeing a few isolated rain showers around the area thanks to a cutoff low slowly departing our area.

As this cutoff low moves east, precipitation and cloud cover will follow. We should see an end to any isolated showers around noon with skies becoming partly cloudy this afternoon. High temperatures are expected to reach into the middle 60s this afternoon.

Calmer weather is expected overnight as our upper-level flow becomes more zonal. Skies will be partly cloudy with lows dropping into the middle to upper 40s.

Fri – Mostly Sunny; Breezy; Very Nice  – High 76º / Fri Night – Mostly Clear; Calm & Cool – Low 48º

Tomorrow’s weather will be something to write home about as this will be Bowling Green’s first day with no precipitation since October 8th. Zonal flow aloft and southerly surface winds will actually pull some warmer air into our area tomorrow and high temperatures will reach the middle to upper 70s. Skies will be partly cloudy Friday and it will be an excellent day to get outside and celebrate the return of quiet weather.

Sat – Partly Cloudy – High 65º / Sat Night – Mostly Clear – Low 40º

A weak cold front is expected to move southeast across Kentucky early on Friday and while this front will not bring any precipitation to our area, temperatures will be running around ten degrees cooler than on Friday. We could see a few clouds associated with the cold front before noon on Saturday but clear skies will begin to dominate the forecast later in the afternoon.

Clear skies will continue overnight and lows will drop to around 40º. Light winds around the area could allow a few rural locations to drop into the upper 30s.

This pattern of calmer and drier weather is expected to continue into early next week as a large ridge builds over the U.S.

That’s all I’ve got for this morning. Try and find a way to get out and enjoy this drier weather over the next few day. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter for real-time weather updates.
