The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been dealing with some heavy rain across the region for a majority of the morning hours. This has led to road closures and flash flooding to portions of the National Park. As well as flooding, the Park is also dealing with high winds. These winds are blowing over trees, blocking many roads and trails. The National Park has a Twitter profile that you can follow to stay updated for the latest closings and weather conditions. Rich Mountain Road in Cades Cove has just been closed due to a downed tree. It will not reopen today.
