Holy Hail

Strong storms impacted the region today, a few of which reached severe criteria. Check out this footage of the hail producers from afar, courtesy of Dr. Joshua Durkee and the WKU CHAOS drone:

Torrential rainfall, violent lightning and potent winds were felt by many across the area, with a handful of locations receiving plentiful amounts of hail.

Early in the afternoon, storms fired to our west.  They quickly intensified and lined out across Butler County, bringing with it an intense hail storm that hit Morgantown.

Another line of storms organized over Logan County and tracked northeast over Warren County.

This line of storms also produced a significant amount of hail across the viewing area.

With the severe threat diminishing today, our focus will turn to tomorrow, as another round of strong storms will be possible for south central Kentucky.  Stay in touch with @WxOrNotBG for the latest.
