Tuesday Afternoon Weather Update

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

This Afternoon – Mostly Sunny – High 76° / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 48°

3pm 75º – 6pm 69º – 9pm 59º – 12am 53º – 3am 50º – 6am 48º

Good afternoon, another absolutely gorgeous afternoon is in progress across southern Kentucky today. Temperatures are in the middle 70s under mostly clear skies.

Another cool night is expected tonight thanks to calm winds and mostly clear skies. Low temperatures will fall into the upper 40s, with some rural locations seeing cooler readings.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, the jet stream is currently in split flow and we will watch the jet stream push north into Canada this week thanks to some mid-level ridging. With weak upper level-winds expected across the eastern U.S., the forcing need to help create weather systems will be nearly absent and we can expect a very quiet weather week.

While our weather will be very pleasant, we will just have to sit around and wait for the upper-air pattern to change until we will see our next rain chances.

Tomorrow’s weather looks nearly identical to what we are seeing today.

Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer thanks to some low-level ridging. Highs will reach the upper 70s under mostly clear skies. Things will cool off quickly once the sun goes down as our low temperatures will dip to around 50° tomorrow night.

Thursday 9/25 – Partly Cloudy – High 81° / Thur Night -Mostly Clear – Low 55°

You won’t find much change in Thursday’s forecast as another beautiful day is expected. Temperatures will reach the lower 80s under partly cloudy skies during the afternoon with low temperatures falling to the middle 50s overnight.

This pattern looks to hold for most of this week. Some model guidance has hinted at our next chance of rain coming late this weekend, but it is much too early predict when the jet stream will become active across the U.S. again.
