Bowling Green Flooding…Again

Strong thunderstorms moving through southern Kentucky late this afternoon causing Bowling Green flooding issues once again.. A flood advisory remains in effect for central Warren County until 6:45pm CST.

Precipitable water values were high this afternoon due to an abundance of heat and moisture in the atmosphere. As storms rolled across Butler and Warren counties they produced very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning.

There were flooding issues on the WKU campus, along 11th Street, the Fairview Plaza, Scottsville Road, and many other locations.

Remember..if you are driving and come across water over the roadway; turn around don’t drown.

In addition to very heavy rainfall, the storm did produce small hail across portions of the county and gusty winds (<50 mph).
