Massive flooding is taking place across Phoenix, Arizona. It is estimated that rainfall amounts topped 4″ in a little over an hour, resulting in widespread flooding across portions of the city.

2-4″ of rainfall within an hour is a lot, however, its impacts are multiplied when it occurs over very dry areas such as Phoenix. The vast majority of this rain resulted in runoff, which created the flooding issues.

The meandering system that caused this mess continues to threaten the area as more rain could be on the way. Fingers crossed it dissipates and doesn’t add on to this Phoenix flood impact.
