Bowling Green Sunday Weather

Real-time radar:

Today 8/10 – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – High 87° // Tonight – Isolated Showers – Low 70°

6am 71º – 9am 77º – 12pm 83º – 3pm 87º – 6pm 83º

Good morning, afternoon, or evening everyone, depending on when you’re reading. I hope everyone survived the frog strangler we experienced yesterday, we needed the rain but not that quick! Looks like we can expect similar weather the next few days, with the best chance for precipitation on Monday. Today you should expect isolated showers and storms in the afternoon with highs in the mid and upper 80s.

Any lingering showers or storms will diminish in coverage after dark, expect a low of around 70 with patchy fog possible.

Monday 8/11 – Scattered Showers & T’Storms – High 88° // Monday Night – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – Low 70°

As mentioned earlier, we will see a rise in precipitation chances for Monday as we have some extra upper level support working its way in from the northwest. This will provide better lift for storms to develop and organize throughout the day. Areas seeing the most sun will see highs in the upper 80s.

You may to keep an eye on the radar throughout the day if you have any outdoor plans. We need the rain, but for some, it could be irritating at this point.

Monday evening and night should show an improvement in the weather, lingering storms should push off to the east and leave us alone for the night. Still, an isolated shower or two could linger in the area. Lows, again, around 70.

Tuesday 8/12 – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – High 85° // Tuesday Night – Partly Cloudy– Low 64°

Tuesday will be a change for the weather setup as a whole. Upper level dynamics will be paying a visit to the Ohio Valley and will help reorient things a bit. An area of low pressure will swing through the Great Lakes region, ahead of a shortwave trough, and dip a cold front through the area on Tuesday evening. This will stabilize conditions and cool us off after its passage.

Therefore, precipitation chances are best early afternoon and should decrease throughout the area thereafter.

Check out some maps for Tuesday depicting the front, low pressure area and jet stream dynamics working the way into the area:

The maps above are valid for 4pm, and as seen on the right, the contrasting values in moisture depict where the cold front is. Thus, cooler conditions will filter in overnight Tuesday, expect lows in the mid 60s overnight and a beautiful day on Wednesday.
