March 2nd – 8th is Severe Weather Awareness Week for the state of Kentucky. Throughout this 7-day span, NWS offices and private meteorologists will put out vital information to help you better understand and prepare for severe weather season.
As part of the activities, a statewide tornado drill will take place at 9:07am across the Commonwealth this morning. When you get the test warning, practice your plan of action for when a tornado warning is issued. Don’t be alarmed, as it’s only a test to get you and others ready incase a severe weather situation unfolds in the future.
