WKU AMS/NWA Student Chapter Photo Contest

The Western Kentucky University Local Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association (WKU AMS/NWA Local Student Chapter for short) is doing a photo contest now until March 14, 2014, to raise awareness about Severe Weather Safety.  We are doing this in honor of Severe Weather Awareness Week which is March 2-8 for the state of Kentucky.  Check out the link for more information: http://kyem.ky.gov/SW/Pages/default.aspx Children in grades K-6th grade may participate and the criteria for the photo contest is as follows:

1) The picture must be drawn by hand on 8.5″ x 11″ computer copy paper
2) The picture must represent severe weather safety
3) The more creative the better!
4) The child’s name must be on the back (right corner) of the picture along with age, grade, and school. 
5) Pictures will be accepted now until March 14, 2014. Pictures may be sent in bulk and mailed to:

6) Students and Professors at WKU will vote on the pictures March 17-20 with a winner being announced on Friday, March 21.
