Today’s forecast has me PUMPED!

Today 2/18 – Sunny & YESSIRR – High 63˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 40˚

6am 32˚ ~ 9am 43˚ ~ 12pm 55˚ ~ 3pm 63˚ ~ 6pm 51˚ ~ 9pm 47˚

High pressure will slide just to our south today, providing partly to mostly sunny skies across the region.  Light southerly winds will combine with the rays of sun to take highs close to 60˚.  Savor it.  Enjoy it.  Here’s a look at surface conditions as of 6am this morning:

Tonight, a moisture-starved cold front will track east across our proximity, doing little more than increasing our cloud coverage.

Wed – Partly Sunny & I’ll Have Another – High 58˚ / Wed Night – Scat’d Showers – Low 49˚

A surface ridge will briefly take over the Ohio Valley Wednesday.  This feature should supplement plentiful amounts of sunshine, give us another day with highs near 60˚.

On Wednesday night, a warm front will advance north across south central Kentucky.  This forcing mechanism will coincide with available moisture to fire off scattered showers.

Thu – Scat’d Showers & Storms – High 70˚ / Thu Night – Showers & Storms Likely – Low 40˚

Ongoing activity from the night before will continue through our Thursday, as a deepening low pressure system pushes into the Great Lakes.

As this occurs, we’ll find ourselves in the warm sector of the system.  Our atmosphere will become primed with warm, moist air as a result, setting up the potential scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Strong southerly flow will send temp values soaring to around 70˚.

As this system continues to evolve, we’ll need to keep an eye on the sky Thursday evening.  A surging cold front looks to help organize a strong to severe line of thunderstorms out ahead of it.  The thickness model below is valid for 6pm Friday.  It paints an active scene across our area:

This feature will propagate east across our vicinity, bringing with it main threats of damaging wind and torrential rainfall.  We can’t rule out the possibility of isolated tornadoes.  Please stay up to date as the latest data becomes available on this pending weather situation.

That’s all I’ve got for now.  Stay connected with @WarrenCountyWx & @Wx_Or_Not for the latest weather information.  Enjoy the sunshine, and have a great day.  Thanks for reading.
