Today 2/5 – Iso’d Snow Showers, Breezy – High 31˚ / Tonight – Cloudy – Low 20˚

6am 31˚ ~ 9am 30˚ ~ 12pm 30˚ ~ 3pm 30˚ ~ 6pm 27˚ ~ 9pm 25˚

Surface low pressure responsible for our flooding/icing event last nice has now progressed well to our northeast.  Ice accumulations of up to ~.10″ was reported in Butler County, while rainfall amounts of 2-3+” rolled in from Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

With temperature values currently dancing around freezing, slick spots will be inevitable for this morning’s commute.  Also keep in mind that there are roadways still in under water.  Please travel with caution.  Here’s a look at the current surface setup:

As this system continues to track northeast out of our area, leftover moisture will keep a few lingering areas of freezing drizzle/light snow showers in place across south central Kentucky.  No additional accumulation is expected.

As a whole, today will be cloudy and cold.  Dress to combat the temperatures, as well as brisk, westerly winds of 15-25mph.  A bitter day, indeed.

Thu – Partly Cloudy – High 29˚ / Thu Night – Low 14˚

More of the same, folks.  Northerly winds will suppress temp values to the upper 20s, and give us wind chills near 10˚.  Scattered clouds will be joined by a few rays of sunshine, but don’t let that deceive you.  Rinse & repeat forecast…bitter and cold.  Time to layer up:

Fri – Partly Sunny – High 35˚ / Fri Night – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 22˚

High pressure will work eastward from Missouri over the Commonwealth, keeping a similar pattern of cloudy, unpleasant conditions around through the end of the work week.  Friday night, a weak disturbance will work across the lower Ohio Valley, producing a light band of wintry precipitation.  This does not look to be a widespread event.  I’ll continue to update as the latest data becomes available.

That’s all I’ve got this morning.  Stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx & @Wx_Or_Not for more frequent weather information.  Have a great Wednesday.  Stay warm, and thanks for reading.
