Today – Partly Sunny & Warmer – High 76 / Tonight – Clear – Low 48
7am 46 ~ 10am 57 ~ 1pm 73 ~ 4pm 76
An upper ridge across the eastern US will remain in place, as a long-wave trough dives south out of the Pacific northwest today. The ridge is illustrated on the 500mb (~18,000ft) model below, which is valid for 4pm today. This feature will keep plenty of sunshine in the forecast for the remainder of the work week:
Thur & Fri – Mostly Sunny – High 78 / Thur & Fri Night – Mostly Clear – Low 54
7am 49 ~ 10am 58 ~ 1pm 72 ~ 4pm 78
Quiet forecast period will progress onward, friends, with nearly identical conditions slated for our Thursday and Friday. Upper ridge looks to maintain control until we get into the weekend, meaning peaceful conditions, along with comfortable temperatures in the mid – upper 70s.
Our next significant chance at rain doesn’t look to arrive until we get into the weekend (we wouldn’t have it any other way, would we?), as a cold front fights to advance across the Ohio Valley.
I’ll be back this afternoon with a fresh look at the latest data. Enjoy the second day of the work week!
